 Alphabet Haiku, is a Weekly Challenge of Abigail Gronway, this week it is the letter (S)

• Every word in the haiku must begin with the same letter.
• When written in English, it generally follows the syllabic pattern 5-7-5
• Haiku/Senryu Poetry – Here is an in-depth description of Haiku/Senryu Poem (also called human haiku) is an unrhymed Japanese verse consisting of three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables (5, 7, 5) or 17 syllables in all. Senryu is usually written in the present tense and only references to some aspect of human nature or emotions. They possess no references to the natural world and thus stand out from nature/seasonal haiku.

Carpe Diem #1541 Late Autumn Evening

The challenge today is to create a short renga with the given haiku, both themed "evening", with a maximum of eight stanza and at least four stanza.

Here are the two haiku by Jane we worked with: they are in red, my reply is blue.

Late Autumn Evening

evening comes

wrapped in sea fog

tied with webs

falling on my damp body

as the moon hides behind clouds

evening sea fog

descending into sun-dried grass

sweaty lovers

lay quietly wrapped together 

moist evening air cooling them

How to create a Renga, one poet writes the first stanza, which is three lines long with a total of seventeen syllables. The next poet adds the second stanza, a couplet with seven syllables per line. The third stanza repeats the structure of the first and the fourth repeats the second, alternating in this pattern until the poem’s end.

Shadorma Poetry– is a Spanish poetic form. A poem of six lines 3-5-3-3-7-5 syllables no set rhyme scheme. It can have many stanzas, as long as each follows the meter.

Carpe Diem #1285 Conqueror of the Sky

This month  - October 2017 Chèvrefeuille has no "weekend-meditation" episodes, but he has chosen for inspirational music created by young and very talented musicians. 

Today he has picked a beautiful composition by Peter Crowley titled "conqueror of the sky".

He went through his archives to find a haiku in which he had used "dragon":

This haiku poetry is what he has come up with.

crystal clear sunlight

reflects all colors in the mirror -

shadow of a dragon

ama on the beach

gives her most beautiful smile -

pearls for a dragon god

against the blue sky

the devilish dragon kite

just like yesterday

flying round mountains

driven by the force of wings

dragons play below

It like living in a dream

I will wake up very soon
